Well & Sick Visits

Well Child Visits

Well visits are an integral component of preventive medicine to make sure your child’s growth and development are on target and help detect subtle signs of underlying medical conditions. This is a time to also discuss diet, behavior, sleep and safety. Most well checks also include immunizations to help prevent serious diseases.

Sometimes you may have other concerns about your child during his/ her well visit. Whenever possible we try to address these concerns at this visit for your convenience, though your insurance company may consider some conditions as “separate” that require a separate visit code and may incur an additional charge depending on your insurance. If you prefer, or if the concern is complex, we are happy to schedule a separate visit to ensure enough time is dedicated for your child’s needs.

Sick Child Visits

When your child is ill you often want answers quickly. We strive to ensure our patients are cared for in a timely manner and really encourage families to schedule with our office rather than go to an urgent care center that is not staffed with pediatricians and may not be able to provide the type of specialized care that children require.

If your child is sick please call our office in the morning so we can ensure your child will be able to be seen the same day. We will also do our best to see patients promptly if you call in the afternoon but the more notice you can give our office the more easily we can accommodate your busy schedule.

For chronic, less urgent conditions (problems that have been going on for weeks or months) we will strive to work with your schedule to find a time that is mutually convenient to evaluate your child.
