What is Infant Massage?

Infant Massage is an ancient tradition in many cultures which has been rediscovered in the West. Clinical evidence shows that loving, touching, nurturing contact between caregiver and infant has a positive impact upon subsequent development. Infant Massage is one of the easiest and most pleasant methods of providing this early positive interaction.

Benefits of Infant Massage

  • Enhances loving communication and bonding between caregiver and baby
  • Enhances parent’s and caregiver’s sense of competence in dealing with fussy, sick or special needs babies
  • Helps both parents and baby to relax and relieves the daily stresses
  • Helps parent to understand and respond appropriately to baby’s non-verbal cues
  • Relieves symptoms of gas and colic
  • Helps to strengthen and regulate the digestive, respiratory and circulatory systems
  • Teaches babies to be aware of their body’s tensions and how to release them

Our Parent/Baby Course

We offer a package of three 45-minute classes for parents, caregivers and their babies ages 3 weeks to crawling. All participants learn the benefits and methods of massage according to the baby’s individual needs and developmental level. Class size is limited to private sessions at this time. Cost is $100 for three classes.
